What is it to be human?
Amongst the hysterics brought on by the COVID-19 virus, quarantine has led me to questions about the oneness of humankind. Although there are a plethora of topics to discuss, I would like to put this months focus on mental health.
There was a time when I lived with an underlying sadness for a continuous period. I now reflect on how my mental health has changed for the better, since then. I attribute that to a personal awakening of sorts and counseling. I realized that I had to change my own way of thinking. We are only products of our environment & the way we individually react to those environments, which is what makes every single person so different. Yet, mental health has no boundaries, racially, financially, etc. So, it's something that affects us all, in some way or another.
The situation across the globe, today, brings my attention to the mental health of the worldwide population as a whole. I feel as though this is a time to reflect on:
1. How we treat ourselves.
2. How we treat others.
3. How we treat the Earth.
I could really go on writing for eons about each individual topic, and break that down further to every individual person, then into every individual situation. Instead, I want to extend my heart to the people experiencing a rough time and encourage everyone to treat each other and the Earth with kindness.
